[5-Driver Hybrid Configuration] As the name suggests, Arete maximizes the performance of all drivers in a 1DD+4BA configuration. For the midrange and treble, we adopted the classic American Knowles driver, which has a reputation for reliable performance, and selected a new biocellulose diaphragm dynamic driver to provide powerful bass.
[Bio-cellulose diaphragm driver] A sturdy 10mm bio-cellulose diaphragm dynamic driver drives sub-bass and bass response. Using a stronger neodymium magnet, the bass response is very quick and tight, and the biocellulose membrane improves bass texturing. Compared to regular balanced armature woofers, this large 10mm dynamic driver delivers much better bass performance.
[Made in the USA Knowles Balanced Armature Drivers] Known for their superior midrange performance, the two Knowles 29689 balanced armature drivers deliver natural and accurate midrange and mid-treble. Vocals and string instruments in particular deliver outstanding sound quality thanks to the precisely tuned 29689 drivers. Finally, we chose the Knowles 31736 twin balanced armature driver to provide pure treble response. These drivers are some of the most known and loved drivers in the IEM industry, and they've been adapted once again to introduce new sounds with new tuning innovations.
[Balanced Monitor Tuning] The most important aspect of Arete's development was tuning. We needed to maintain the natural sound quality of professional studio monitors, yet still provide strong bass and an enjoyable listening experience. The midrange is almost flat and natural from 300Hz to 1kHz, reproducing the sound of instruments and vocals exactly as they were recorded, eliminating coloration. Additionally, this neutral midrange provides excellent instrument layering and imaging, allowing the listener to identify each instrument line in the mix.
[Focused bass impact] To achieve subwoofer-like bass, we tuned the bass using a 9dB shelf with a precise cutoff at 300Hz. This tuning allows the bass to resonate strongly and deeply, yet remain clear without adding muddy sound. Low frequency adjustment allows music lovers to fully enjoy all the bass, while still maintaining an overall clear and natural tone.
