A glass with a tasteful ``Hoei crater'' indentation and ``Fuji Sakura'' facets ♪ It makes Mt. Fuji, the symbol of Japan, more realistic.
Mt. Hoei was born due to a large eruption in 1707 (Hoei 4) during the middle of the Todo period. We created a depression that imitates that large crater - the Hoei Crater. The indentation is designed so that your thumb can fit comfortably in it to make it easier to hold the glass.
Fuji-zakura (also known as Mame-zakura) is a variety that grows wild in Mt. Fuji and its foothills, and its petals have five single layers. Fujizakura, which is a symbol of Japan like Mt. Fuji, is carefully cut into pieces one by one. Kiriko also prevents slipping when holding the glass.
Tajima Glass Co., Ltd. was founded in 1956 by Matsutaro Tajima as a glass tableware manufacturing factory in Koto Ward, Tokyo.
In 1962, we established our own factory in what is now Matsue, Edogawa Ward, and began manufacturing tumblers and wine glasses for commercial use.For half a century, we have continued to carefully create glass products that are in tune with the times, one by one, by the hands of skilled craftsmen.
Based on the product development and technical capabilities cultivated over many years, we are passing on the charm and culture of Japanese handmade glass to the future.
The company contributes to a variety of manufacturing activities, including supplying glass fabric to designers and other workshops, and was even awarded the 3rd Tokyo Challenge Grand Prize.
Please enjoy the techniques unique to a manufacturer with deep knowledge of glass materials.
