HBB is one of the world's leading hi-fi audio reviewers and a key influencer in this hobby. With extensive experience in IEMs (in-ear monitors) and headphones, HBB provided unique insight into the tuning and design of ZiiGaat x HBB: Arcadia.
Arcadia is a hybrid IEM with one dynamic driver and two balanced armature drivers. Featuring authentic American-made Knowles ED 29689s and Knowles RAD 33518s, Arcadia utilizes state-of-the-art balanced armature drivers for uncompromising sound quality. The Knowles 29689 full-range driver is the IEM industry's absolute workhorse driver, with a proven track record in the world's best earphones. The 29689 provides a completely natural and reference midrange, delivering exceptional clarity for vocals and instruments. Meanwhile, the RAD 33518 is Knowles' recently designed ultra-high frequency tweeter that delivers excellent micro-detail reproduction and sparkle in the high frequencies.
Arcadia uses a newly developed custom in-house dynamic driver to drive the bass. This 10mm dynamic driver uses ZiiGaat's proprietary topology diaphragm. Topological diaphragms are created using a layer of nanoparticle dispersion to form a unique topographical pattern on the surface, dispersing sound as designed. ZiiGaat's custom topology diaphragm is carefully designed to increase bass speed and impact while maintaining sustain.
ZiiGaat x HBB: Arcadia is tuned to perfectly match the sound signature of a modern reference class. 8dB of powerful, deep sub-bass with a crisp cutoff at 200Hz and a completely flat, natural midrange. This midrange timbre reproduces music exactly as audio engineers intended, without muddying or coloring the sound.
